Andria Brings Home First In The Two Mile Run

The Ocean Breeze Invitational is one of the largest meets in the country, bringing crazy amounts of competition from all over. Since the Ocean Breeze Invitational is so big, it is split up into two days, the boys on Saturday and the girls on Sunday. There are over 6,500 entries, all ready to bring their A-game. Andria Scaglione definitely made her presence known.

MileSplit contains all the pictures and live action to watch during any Ocean Breeze Invitational. Everyone’s times are available to look up at any time. On Sunday January 28th, Andria Scaglione came out strong from being the conference champ in the 3000 meter run. Andria started her two miles incredibly fast, neck to neck with two other girls. She finished her first mile in 5 minutes and 34 seconds. When she began the second and last mile she realized she needed to speed up in order to create a gap big enough to finish in first. Andria did not let any other athlete get in her way as she gained a huge lead on the rest of the group. She finished off her two miles in 11 minutes and 2 seconds, placing first. She received  the first place medal and plaque, but it is her determination and effort throughout the season that has been truly inspiring.

Overall, Andria’s wins have encouraged other teammates to work hard towards their own personal goals. Her teammates have cheered her on in every meet she has ran in and her effort is outstanding. She continues to work extremely hard ready to take on higher competition. Andria is ranked 7th in the country for her two mile run and we could not be more proud!
