To ring in the New Year, America was not too pleased with some of the New Year’s performances. Mariah Carey had aN unsuccessful performance to say the least. Carey was accused of “lip-syncing” but she says she wasn’t. Nobody really knows what has exactly happened, but many people are accusing Mariah which is leaving her very unsettled. Critics are tweeting at Mariah that she was not trying as hard as she has in the past. Others said that her producers were setting her up to fail which is actually very hard to believe.

Carey has turned in lack-luster performances in the past as well, so not many were surprised with how this one went. Last winter during the Christmas season Mariah performed in Rockefeller Center at the annual New York City Tree Lighting Ceremony and the performance turned upside down with low music and poor vocals. It happens to be no coincidence that her performances don’t go so well year after year. During the performance, Carey said “Well we can’t hear” speaking to her producers, blaming them stating that they  messed up her performance.  After the unfortunate performance, without concern, Carey tweeted

“S**t happens…Have a happy and healthy new year everybody!…Here’s to making more headlines in 2017.”

“I will never know the truth, but I do know that we told them three times that her mic pack was not working and it was a disastrous production,” Ms. Bulochnikov, Mariah’s manager, told Us Weekly magazine on Sunday. The cause of the problem was not immediately clear. It’s certainly not something to investigate too much. It is what it is: New Year’s Eve in Times Square. Audience reactions led the world to think that it’s normal for her to screw up and that she doesn’t care. Mariah is used to the humiliation of not performing so well on stage. We shall see what happens in the upcoming year with the troubled superstar.
