Houston Goes Gaga For Gaga

DANA HOFFMAN

“We’re here to make you feel good!” declared Gaga during her performance at the super bowl halftime show, and that’s exactly what she did. Many people assumed Gaga would add a political statement and voice a liberal stance on the state of our country. However, to the surprise of Saturday Night Live and the public’s preconceived notions at large, she simply entertained.

She began her performance singing pieces of “God Bless America” and “This Land Is Your Land”. If anything, she stressed unity. That despite the clashing beliefs of people in this country, we can all agree to come together to watch this event.

She leaped off the top of Houston’s NRG Stadium and sung while suspended and descending down to the concert stage atop the turf. Gaga performed some of her greatest hits from her first hit “Polkerface” all the way through a“Million Reasons” from her newest album “Joanne”.

She had a tall task to follow the footsteps of last years performances by Beyoncé, Bruno Mars, and Coldplay. It’s safe to say she took the halftime tradition to new heights during this legendary Superbowl 51 halftime show.
