Local Spotlight: Spooky Fest at Tanglewood Preserve

by KATELYN BLANKOPH

At Tanglewood Preserve in RVC, Spooky Fest is held annually. It’s fun for the entire family! Spooky Fest has crafts, fortune telling, a live animal exhibit, face painting, and a fun Not-So-Spooky Walk in the woods for young children. For older teens, Tanglewood has a scary Haunted Woods and a Maze of Zombies.

You can volunteer at Spooky Fest as well. Last year, I volunteered to help out with crafts. When volunteers arrive at 5:30, they serve pizza for all them! Volunteers can also be zombies, fortune tellers, exhibit guides, and face painters.

Spooky Fest takes place on October 14th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 27th, 28th, 29th (RAIN OR SHINE!).  Volunteers are needed from 5:30pm- 10:00pm at 1450 Tanglewood Preserve in Rockville Centre, Long Island. Contact Joann Williams at  https://www.cstl.org/spooky-fest-volunteer/ to sign up.
