Matt DiStefano is not only one of the most intelligent and driven students at Oceanside High School, but he is also one of the most fun and energetic, bringing a sense of positivity to every class he is in. Besides being the News Editor for the Sider Press, Matt is also the President of Oceanside’s prestigious World Interest Club. He led the club to great success at Brown University’s Model UN Conference and is currently preparing them to attend Harvard’s Model UN in January. Matt is also an active member of the College Science Research Program, conducting oncological research at Mount Sinai Medical Center for the past two years.
Matt has recently been accepted to Cornell University’s College of Engineering and hopes to use his passions for both engineering and international relations to enact positive and lasting change. As someone who has had the pleasure to be not only his peer but his friend, I can state that Matt’s character and humor are as exceptional as his many successes. His natural inclination for leadership is remarkable and the work that he has done in his positions of leadership have left a lasting positive impact on our school and community.
