Saturday October 14th Somalia’s Capital Mogadishu faced a devastating terror attack that left 300 known dead and 70 critical injuries.
The Somali Government blames terrorist groups like al Qaeda and Al-Shabaab. While neither group has commented on the attack yet, many hospitals from Mogadishu report “people are so badly burned and damaged that they are beyond recognition, many bodies come missing parts and can’t be identified” as scared and nervous relatives wait outside hospitals to see if their loved one is there or not.
This attack is one of the worst the world has seen in recent years. And one of the deadliest in Africa alone. Many neighboring countries are sending aid to Somalia including Ethiopia, Turkey, and Kenya.
As of October 17th Al-Shabaab is now taking responsibility for the attack.
