As a result, Puss sets out to gain his eight lives back on a legendary quest into the unknown Black Forest where anything can happen. It had been nearly eleven years since the last Puss In Boots movie was released, and this sequel did not disappoint. I walked into the theater thinking the film was going to be a movie for little kids and the writers might ruin what was once a great franchise, but I was completely wrong. The animation was excellent ( the quality appeared to be a lot better than the last Puss in Boots movie) and the film is not just for kids – it appeals to all ages. The main villain, Death, who takes the form of a white wolf in a black hooded cloak, is an excellent character and is easy to root against. Well-written villains are sometimes hard to come by in animated films, so Death was a welcomed surprise.

Overall, I really enjoyed Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, and I’m excited to see what DreamWorks will release next. Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is now available to buy or rent on all Video on Demand steaming services.

by Chloe DeFrancesco The Shrek spinoff, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, premiered in New York in December and was warmly received by both critics and fans.
