Are you considering getting a dog? If so, here are some family friendly dog breeds to consider.<\/p>\n\n\n

Breed: Labrador Retriever<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lifespan<\/strong>: 10-12 years<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hours of sleep<\/strong>: Puppy: 18-19 hours, Adult: 8-13.5 hours,\u00a0Senior: 18-20 hours<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shedding<\/strong>: Labrador Retrievers shed a moderate amount, but it isn\u2019t something that a shower and comb won\u2019t help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Personality<\/strong>: Labradors are very affectionate with family and are good with young kids; they are also very playful. Labrador\u2019s are also protective and are able to adapt to different environments. Labrador Retrievers are easy to train, have lots of energy, and only bark if they\u2019re playing or if they sense some sort of threat. They also need to have something to do so they don\u2019t become bored.<\/p>\n\n\n

Breed: Golden Retriever<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lifespan<\/strong>: 10-12 years<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shedding<\/strong>: Golden Retrievers also shed a moderate amount, but combing them regularly will help alleviate the shedding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Personality:<\/strong> Golden Retrievers are affectionate to family members and are great with young children. They are very open to anyone else you bring around and are also playful. Golden Retrievers also have a protective nature and are able to adapt quickly to most environments. They are also easy to train and have a moderate energy level, but will still bug you to play with them if they want. These dogs don\u2019t bark as much – the only time they do is to alert someone. Golden Retrievers also need something to keep them busy so they don\u2019t become bored.<\/p>\n\n\n

Personality<\/strong>: Beagles are affectionate to family if they are very comfortable around you; other than that they\u2019re pretty lovable. They are great with young children, and are also good with other dogs. Beagles may be a little shy around other people, but they\u2019ll eventually open up. Beagles are also very playful and are able to adapt to different environments as well. Beagles do, however, bark a lot, sometimes for no reason. They also need something else to do so they don\u2019t become bored.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

Shedding:<\/strong> Shih Tzu\u2019s rarely shed at all, but if they have long hair, it might knot up which you will have to comb out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Personality<\/strong>: Shih Tzus are very affectionate with family and great with children, probably because of how small they are. They sometimes get very shy around other people and will often try to get away from you, but they will eventually warm up. Shih Tzu’s have moderate energy but will sometimes want you to play with them; they can be protective as well. It may take them 2-3 weeks to adapt to the new environment, but once they do, you’ll see them walking around a lot more. Shih Tzus sometimes bark if something alerts them or bark for no reason. They also get very clingy and will start barking if you leave them alone for too long. They also need something to do as well to keep them occupied. <\/p>\n\n\n

Shedding<\/strong>: Since huskies have double coats, they tend to shed a lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Personality<\/strong>: Huskies are very affectionate with family members and great with kids. Some huskies are open to other people and some would rather be left alone. Huskies are also very energetic and will get any opportunity to run around and get everyone to play with them. They are also very protective of what\u2019s theirs and won\u2019t let anyone else get to it. Many huskies are stubborn, so it might take\u00a0a while to train them, but they\u2019ll get the gist of it soon. Huskies are filled with energy and will only rest when they get really tired. Huskies love to bark and scream at you – when you speak to them it\u2019s almost like they\u2019re talking back to you.
