September 2026 was a month full of fun events and surprises for Oceanside High School. We started off with the First Day Of School when Seniors arrived bright and early in their decorated cars and senior t-shirts to celebrate the first day of school. After that, only a few days later, we had the first Friday night Football Game as Oceanside beat Farmingdale 37-29. It was a great start for the Sailors!

Also during this month kids were just getting back to school after a long two months of Summer vacation getting back into the swing of things and hitting the books. A major part of September was the new ID rules in the school. The school gave out brand new identification cards to students which are connected to scanning systems which scan students ID’s to confirm that they are in or out of the school during the school day if they have those privileges. Students are still getting used to the new system, but so far, so good.

In other news, the Club Fair (which presented many different clubs for students to join for extracurricular activities) occurred in the Cafeteria in late September. The fair, as always, was well attended. Also, Fall Sports began with many different teams having their first games, matches, and meets to begin the 2026-2027 OHS athletic season. We also held our annual Pep Rally at the end of September to celebrate our school spirit.

September 2026 was a very eventful month for OHS. Hopefully the rest of the year can prove to be another fun year for us Sailors. Go Sailors!!!
