On the two episode premiere of Dancing With the Stars partners Hailey Bills and Sarah Jane Nadar and Adele Zaikman and Conner Leavitt were eliminated which sparked controversy. This season Adele is a new pro on the show since she won the show Dancing with the Stars: A New Pro. Hailey Bills is a new pro on the show after being on troupe last year. They were the only pair that had a same sex pairing and were eliminated. In 2021 Jenna Johnson (who is Hailey’s Aunt) had the first ever same sex pairing with JoJo Siwa and they went pretty far into the competition.

Week two of Dancing with the Stars (theme night) was “viral hits night” which contained popular songs from this year. Alan Bersten and Giada De Laurentiis were eliminated after they did their second dance which was a salsa. The song that they danced to was “Bella Ciao” by Becky G and they received a score of twelve out of thirty from the judges which put them pretty low on the leader board. Since eliminations are based on judges scores and viewers votes, Bersten and De Laurentis were sent home because they did not have as many viewer votes as the other contestants.

The theme for week three of Dancing with the Stars was Yacht Rock. Unfortunately, Taylor Hanson and Britt Stewart were eliminated. They danced the foxtrot to the song “What a Fool Believes” by The Doobie Brothers. Their score for the night from the judges was an 18/30 which is similar to what happened on week two because many viewers did not vote for them which resulted in their elimination. This season Taylor specifically asked to be paired with Britt, so after they got eliminated many people were frustrated that they went home. The competition this season is much more competitive than past seasons, so it’s much harder to eliminate people. Let’s see what happens in the upcoming weeks…

by Mikayla Lieber Dancing with the Stars season 35 premiered September 15th and 16th on ABC and is back with a larger cast than ever before.
