Long Beach Cleanup

Long Beach Cleanup

by Chloe DeFrancesco

Long Beach Cleanup is a non-profit organization that helps clean our beaches to save our environment. They host weekly beach cleanups to keep harmful plastics and beach items from contaminating our water. You can either volunteer or even make a donation to the cause.

If you’re a high school student looking to add more community service to your resume, this is the perfect opportunity to do so. This organization is also looking for student interns for the spring and summer, so definitely check that out.

Long Beach Cleanup provides cleaning supplies but it’s suggested you bring your own reusable bags and gloves. It’s encouraged to wear crew gear (apparel) when you volunteer to show support for the community (you can always wear regular clothes too). This organization always hosts events so make sure to follow their social media.

Since the weather is getting warmer and the beach sunsets are rounding into summer form, this is a great opportunity to help out our environment. One person might not achieve much by themself, but if we all work together, it is sure to make a difference.
