Sabrina Carpenter is a popular singer who was originally an actress. She played a role in the movies “Tall Girl” and “Adventures in Babysitting”. Carpenter starred in popular TV shows as well, such as “Sofia the First” and “Girls Meets World”. In 2014, she released her debut single and has continued to make music over the years. Over the past few years, she has truly grown as an artist, selling out arenas and playing at festivals. On August 23rd, 2024 Carpenter released her latest album Short n’ Sweet. Short n’ Sweet is an eclectic pop album including influences from country, disco, and R&B.

Short n’ Sweet is Sabrina Carpenter’s 6th studio album. It has 12 songs and is 36 minutes long. It is a refreshingly light album that is clever and unhinged. The album is about past relationships that last the shortest and ironically hurt the most. Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet has won the race for number one on Billboard’s 200 album chart, skyrocketing to major success. Sabrina Carpenter released two singles before the album came out during the summer. The first single she released was “Espresso”. In “Espresso” she uses the metaphor of being energized and ready to take on challenges. It is a feel good song that doesn’t take itself too seriously. “Please, Please, Please” is about her insecurities and fears of her boyfriend breaking her heart. The song focuses on being in love with someone others may not agree with.

The most popular songs on the album are “Taste”, “Please, Please, Please”, and “Slim Pickings”. “Taste” is rated a ten out of ten. Fans speculate it is about her relationship with the singer Shawn Mendez. The music video features one of Sabrina Carpenter’s lifelong friends and famous actress Jenna Ortega. “Please, Please, Please” was the album’s second single released in June. The first and second verses are in different keys to keep the song interesting. This song is rated a nine-point five out of ten. Lastly, the song “Slim Pickings” is rated an eight-point five and has a sarcastic edge to it. It highlights her emotions while maintaining a humorous tone.

Carpenter’s album “Short and Sweet” is a major hit. The album has boosted her fame and brought her new opportunities. Fans are invested in the drama between her and Mendez and are frequently streaming the songs; especially “Please Please Please”, “Taste”, “Slim Pickings”, and “Espresso”.
