Are you looking for something to do this cold winter season? Well, Long Island has many activities to choose from. Whether you want to enjoy scenic winter wonderland or walk or cozy up indoors there are lots of options to choose from.

Just minutes from Oceanside, Hempstead Lake Park is a favorite winter spot. The park’s walking trails remain open all year long and are especially peaceful in the winter. With the beautiful trees, an open lake view, and the birds flying overhead, it makes the perfect place to take a winter walk. On mildly cold days it makes a for great peaceful walk without all the summer crowds.
Minutes away, Rockville Centre has the perfect strip full of cafes, shops and restaurants which make it ideal for a cozy lunch or night out. Just make your way down Sunrise Highway to grab a warm drink or meal and relax without being outside in the cold.
Nearby, there are several public skating rinks located indoors and outdoors, such as Grant Park and the Long Beach ice skating rink. Ice skating is a classic winter activity and a great option for friends, family and couples.
Arcades and movie theaters are a must for the wintertime. Bundling indoors with a good movie and hot popcorn is ideal if you are trying to get out the cold. Check out Regal Theatre in Lynbrook to catch a movie. Also, arcades let you enjoy hours of fun playing games and winning prizes indoors. Check out Dave and Buster’s in Hicksville to get your arcade fix.
