Knicks in NBA Conference Finals

Knicks in NBA Conference Finals

by Nick Greco

It’s almost the end of the NBA playoffs and it’s been an exciting playoffs thus far. Our hometown team, the Knicks, have arguably been the most exciting team of the playoffs so far. They’ve been dominant the whole playoffs. First beating the Atlanta Hawks and the Philadelphia 76ers in 4 games. Now they take on the Cleveland Cavaliers who beat the Raptors and Pistons. In the western conference, the OKC Thunder, who are trying to repeat, have won 8 games straight sweeping both teams they’ve played the Phoenix Suns and the LA Lakers.  Putting what seems to be an end of Lebron’s dominant 23 year career. They play the Spurs who have had a tough road beating both Timberwolves and Trail Blazers.

The Knicks are heading into this matchup with one of the deepest teams and most stacked teams they have in a while. They’re led by Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns who have been a strong duo leading the team. But that’s not all they have with a strong starting 5 including the likes of OG Anunoby, Josh Hart, and Mikal Bridges. They’re bench also includes players like Miles McBride, Jordan Clarkson, Jeremy Sochan and Mitchell Robinson. The Knicks have proved why they deserved to be in the Conference finals coming off seven straight wins. They manhandled the 76ers in the conference semi finals beating them by 30 in game 4.

Arguably the more exciting matchup is in the west where two time MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the reigning champs OKC Thunder face off against Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs. This matchup can go either way as both teams are really good and comparative. But whoever may advance will have to most likely play the Knicks will definitely make the Finals a fun one to watch.

Every Knicks fan has a reason not to be excited as the series starts tomorrow. They’ve been the most dominant team throughout the playoffs and now they play the Cavs who should be no problem for them. Some fans have said the window for the Knicks is closing for them after this year’s playoffs. But after these past performances, it seems like the championship window is wide open. We’ll see if the Knicks can move on to Finals.
