As the days grow shorter and the leaves begin to fall from the trees, we are reminded that the year is about to end. We are prompted to think and reflect on our accomplishments and important things that took place in this chapter of our lives. November has always been a month of transformation, not only in nature but in history as well. From the inauguration of the most iconic art pieces in the world to pivotal moments in world wars, November is sure to have it all. In this article, we will take a deep dive into some of the most significant historical events that have occurred in November.
November 1, 1993 – The European Union was formally established.
November 3, 1957 – Soviet Russia launched the Sputnik, which was the world’s first space capsule and carried a dog named Laika, as its one and only passenger.
November 4, 1922 – The discovery of King Tut’s tomb in Luxor, Egypt.
November 4, 1942 – During WW2, the British Eighth Army defeated German troops at El Alamein after a twelve-day battle.
November 17, 1800 – The U.S. Congress met for the first time in Washington, DC.
